R&D Offer

The Carnot MERS Offer

The Carnot MERS institute aims to develop encounters and collaboration between academic research and companies in the marine sector, for a digital and sustainable marine industry.

Relying on a strong skills base in the fields of biology, ecosystems, materials and structures, marine geosciences, fluid mechanics, sensors, digital technology and energy systems, the Carnot MERS Institute deploys its support offer in response to the 3 major challenges facing maritime activities:
Offshore activities are exposed to severe constraints. Carnot MERS aims to assess and limit the specific risks to which equipment, infrastructures, etc. are exposed in the marine environment, in order to reduce their vulnerability and make their operation more reliable.
Like all sectors, the maritime economy is increasingly relying on digital tools for data collection, transmission and analysis to boost its competitiveness. In this field, Carnot MERS has a vast array of skills that can be mobilized throughout the value chain.
Today, the ecological and climatic imperative is a major challenge for the entire maritime economy. Carnot MERS is able to intervene throughout the entire life cycle, from the exploration of alternative resources to end-of-life management, thus contributing to the decarbonization of the industry.
