Innovation & intellectual property

The Carnot network is committed to developing research partnerships with businesses and promoting technology transfer. This involves the organised diffusion of the results of public research for optimum exploitation thereby ensuring maximum socio-economic impact.

Carnot has outline a "Charter of Good Practices for Intellectual Property and Knowledge and Technology Transfer " (in french). This charter guarantees a standardised approach to dealing with intellectual property and transfer issues within the network’s institutes.

Likewise, the National Institute of Industrial Property and the Association of Carnot Institutes have jointly produced the practical guide "Research between SMEs-ETI and public laboratories - Instructions" (in french). This guide covers the different aspects of an R&D contract between businesses and research laboratories in just a few pages. It contains a set of recommendations to facilitate balanced contractual solutions.
